Deploying
With deployment may come the need for additional protection.
We can help you safeguard your loved ones.
Servicemembers are provided with $500,000 of Servicemembers’ Group Life Insurance (SGLI) upon entry into the military. It costs $2.50 per $50,000 of coverage — with full coverage costing $25 per month. This is typically paid for through an automatic monthly deduction from a servicemember’s military pay, but premiums are waived while servicemembers are deployed. Servicemembers with SGLI coverage are also automatically given Traumatic Injury Protection (TSGLI), which provides up to $100,000 in short-term financial support to servicemembers who receive a severe injury, including the loss of limbs.
However, you may need more life insurance.
If you are leaving behind loved ones who count on you financially, or simply want to cover all the costs that may arise if something were to happen to you, $500,000 of SGLI coverage may not be enough. If you have children with daycare or future educational costs, a mortgage, or want to provide income for your spouse, Navy Mutual provides term and permanent insurance policies that could last for the duration of your military service or the remainder of your life – with no active duty service restrictions, aviation restrictions, or caveats when it comes to deployment. Spouses of active duty personnel may also be eligible to secure this important protection.
