Captain Reggie Howard

Career Assignments

Born and raised in Macon, Georgia, Reggie graduated from the United States Naval Academy in 1989 with a degree in Engineering. In the fall of 1989, Reggie departed Annapolis to begin his naval flight officer training at NAS Pensacola, Florida. The highlight of Reggie’s time in Pensacola was meeting his future wife, Jodie Paul. He received his wings of Gold in 1991 at Mather Air Force Base, California.

What followed was an illustrious 28-year naval career where he completed numerous operational tours that took him to the European, Caribbean, Pacific, African, and Middle Eastern Theaters in support of operations that included Operations Enduring Freedom, Southern Watch, and Iraqi Freedom.

His operational tours included Commander Carrier Group SIX aboard the USS John F. Kennedy, Commanding Officer of the Mad Foxes of Patrol Squadron FIVE, and Commander, Patrol and Reconnaissance Wing 57 in Bahrain.

His shore tours were highlighted by multiple assignments in the Pentagon to include two assignments as part of the Naval Aviation Requirements (N98) team, master’s student at the National Defense University, a two-time member of the Navy’s Quadrennial Defense Review team, a CNO Strategic Studies Group Fellow, Massachusetts Institute of Technology Seminar XXI Program Fellow, and the Deputy Director of Navy Current Ops (N3/N5).

Reggie retired in 2017 and spent the next six years in the defense industry working with BAE Systems to provide the nation’s warfighters with the assets necessary to fight and win our nation’s conflicts.

In 2023, Reggie left BAE Systems to energize his consulting firm, JRHoward Consulting, which specializes in the mentoring of corporate leaders and assisting corporations seeking contracts within the Department of Defense.

Reggie has been blessed for 33 years with the love of his life, Jodie, and four amazing children: Lily (15), Rosie (24), Grant (27), and Olivia (32).

B.S. in General Engineering from the U.S. Naval Academy; M.S. in National Security Strategy from the National War College.
