A communications veteran with more than 30 years of experience, his service with the U.S. Navy included: Chief of Information, as senior spokesman for and strategic communication counsel to the Secretary of the Navy and Chief of Naval Operations, managing more than 2,000 communications professionals on a global team; Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense, leading the Department of Defense strategic communication program; Special Assistant for Public Affairs, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff and Chief of Naval Operations; and Chief of Media at U.S. Central Command (forward) during Operation Iraqi Freedom.
