Education is an important part of our mission here at Navy Mutual – in our effort to educate the military community in matters of financial readiness. Our team of education presenters recently spent two days learning from subject matter experts who shared the latest trends, topics, and information our presenters can build into their presentations to share with our military audience. The two-day event allowed our presenters to learn more about the challenges that our military service men and women are facing, and how Navy Mutual can help to share important and critical information to benefit servicemembers and their families.

Long-term care, Veterans Homes, VA Benefits, Social Security, and Thrift Savings Plans were a few of the topics covered during the two-day symposium. Everyone who participated came away having learned new information to evolve and advance the work we do at Navy Mutual.

Over the course of two-days the speakers shed light on the challenges associated with long-term care and how it’s affecting our Veterans. The statistics indicate a growing need for long-term care –  one in ten people over the age of 65 have Alzheimers/Dementia, over 40% of all Americans will need nursing home care, and 70% will require some type of long-term care. This topic is becoming more important for our education presenters to share information in their own presentations.
