David Fridell became the Chief Financial Officer at Navy Mutual in September 2011. In addition to directing the daily financial operations of the organization, he is responsible for managing a portfolio of investments, assets, and financial reserves for members that totals more than $2.6 billion. At Navy Mutual, his financial expertise is focused on portfolio management, capital preservation in various economic conditions, and mitigating financial risk, particularly in life insurance and annuity products.
An accomplished actuary, Fridell served in similar capacities for large insurance corporations, including risk oversight and management, statutory compliance, and financial planning.
Prior to joining the Navy Mutual team, Fridell served as Actuary at GGY AXIS. He also served as Vice President & Senior Risk Officer, Corporate Risk at AEGON USA, and was Assistant Vice President for Variable Annuity Management & Reporting for Allianz Life. His earlier actuarial career included corporate modeling and product development at Deloitte.
Fridell holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Actuarial Science from the University of Manitoba, is a Member of the American Academy of Actuaries, and a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries.
