Kathleen L. Martin

Career assignments:  Rear Admiral Martin was commissioned an Ensign after graduating from Boston University.  She attended the University of San Diego and earned a Master of Science degree in 1992 in both nursing administration and as a family health nurse specialist.  She assumed her first command as Commanding Officer of Naval Medical Clinic, Port Hueneme.  She was promoted to Rear Admiral and assigned as the Medical Inspector General.  Rear Admiral Martin then served as Commander, National Naval Medical Center and as the 19th Director of the Navy Nurse Corps.  In her remaining years of service, she was the Deputy Surgeon General of the Navy/Vice Chief, Bureau of Medicine and Surgery from 2003 to retirement, 2005.  She is currently the Executive Director of Navy Marine Coast Guard Residence Foundation & CEO of Vinson Hall Corporation.
